Mardi began her career during the establishment of family vineyards at Padthaway in the Limestone Coast, SA during the early 1990s. She has a BAgSci(VitSci), Masters of Viticulture and PhD from the University of Adelaide and currently works as a Viticulturist for the Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI).
Mardi has national and international experience in vineyard management, technical viticulture, research, education and extension. In recent years she has focussed on national sustainability projects in the wine industry including the management of corporate water assets, benchmarking greenhouse gas emissions from vineyards and training growers and wineries to gain certification in the wine industry’s environmental program, ‘Entwine’.
Mardi is a visiting research fellow at the University of Adelaide, a member of the Wine Industry National Environment Committee (WINEC), Vice President of the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology (ASVO) and an Associate Member of the Limestone Coast Grape and Wine Council. She is also a previous member of the WGGA Decision Support Network.
Mardi has been a member of the Executive Committee since November 2014, replacing Simon Berry.
