Victorian Farmers wanted for Study on Bird Damage and Deterrents
A group of young engineers are conducting a study which will explore the impact of bird damage and the effectiveness of bird control approaches in Victorian viticulture.
They are interested in the opinions of local growers to outline the challenges and difficulties associated with existing forms protecting grape crops from birds and how they affect grape production.
The final product (a video) will be streamed for public access via YouTube.

Toolpro is a supplier of horticultural and specialty tools and recently supplied many Hunter Valley contractors and growers with stainless steel grape snips for this year’s harvest.
Business owner Don Madden commented “With the unseasonal wet weather which began just before the harvest, stainless steel snips will be a major benefit in the damp conditions.” He added “We believe our product is superior and performs well in the field, often lessening the frustration contractors, growers and pickers alike feel with other products.”
